Engineered for harsh industrial and direct-burial applications, 8 AWG 3-Conductor TECK90 Cable delivers complete 1000V 3-phase power and circuit protection without installing rigid conduit.

Featuring three stranded copper conductors, a #10 ground, dual PVC jackets, and flexible Aluminum Interlocked Armor (AIA), it is the ultimate direct-burial solution for 55A industrial power circuits, 3-phase machinery feeds, motors, and cable trays.

Key Features & Benefits: 8/3 TECK90 1000V Cable

  • Dual-Jacket Direct Burial Protection: The inner and outer lead-free PVC jackets isolate the interlocked aluminum armor from moisture, soil chemicals, and mechanical abrasion, allowing direct installation in open trenches or wet raceways.

  • 1000V Heavy-Duty Rating: Built with RW90 XLPE thermoset insulation rated for applications up to 1000V and continuous operating temperatures from -40°C to +90°C in wet or dry locations.

  • 3-Phase Power Layout: Features three stranded bare copper circuit conductors (8 AWG) and a 10 AWG bare copper ground wire for reliable 3-phase grounding and ampacity.

  • Flexible Interlocked Armor (AIA): The aluminum interlocked armor shields internal conductors from physical impacts, crushing, and soil shifts without sacrificing flexibility during tight pulls.

  • Severe Weather & Hazardous Location Approved: Rated for -40°C cold impact and certified for hazardous locations (CSA C22.2 No. 174) and FT4 flame resistance.

8/3 TECK90 Cable with Ground is a heavy-duty, 1000V-rated armored cable engineered for 3-phase power distribution, motors, pumps, and heavy industrial machinery. Built with three 8 AWG stranded copper conductors, a #10 bare copper ground, dual PVC jackets, and Aluminum Interlocked Armor (AIA), it provides complete mechanical protection in harsh environments without installing rigid conduit.

Yes! 8/3 TECK90 is fully CSA certified for direct earth burial in open trenches. Its inner and outer lead-free PVC jackets seal the aluminum armor against moisture, corrosive soil chemicals, ground rot, and mechanical abrasion, eliminating the added labor and material costs of PVC or steel pipe.

While both feature interlocked armor, standard MC cable is designed primarily for dry indoor commercial spaces and is rated for 600V. TECK90 is an industrial-grade cable with two PVC jackets—one underneath the armor and one over the armor and is rated for 1000V. This outer jacket makes TECK90 completely waterproof, sunlight-resistant, and suitable for direct burial and hazardous locations, whereas standard MC cannot be buried or exposed to wet locations without special outer jackets.

Voltage & Temperature: 1000V | -40°C to +90°C

Ampacity Rating: 55 Amps (per CE Code Part 1, Table 2 @ 90°C)

Outer Diameter & Weight: Approx. 0.94 inches OD | 486 lbs per 1,000 ft

Insulation & Armor: RW90 XLPE insulation | Flexible Aluminum Interlocked Armor (AIA)

Yes. It is certified under CSA C22.2 No. 174 for hazardous locations, meets CSA FT4 flame resistance, and carries a -40°C cold-impact rating for severe outdoor exposures, mines, chemical plants, and wash-down facilities.

Wire America custom cuts 8/3 TECK90 cable to your exact footage requirements so you buy only what your job site requires—with zero reel-cut fees and no wasted spool ends. Master reels are also available for large commercial projects.

Orders are processed quickly and ship directly from regional distribution hubs, with an estimated transit time of 2 to 4 business days once it leaves the warehouse. If your project estimator, engineer, or inspector requires official cut sheets or technical data sheets for job approval, contact our sales desk directly at 833-268-8644 or email sales@wireamerica.com.
