Type G-GC is a heavy-duty, 2kV portable power cable engineered specifically for mobile mining equipment, heavy industrial machinery, and three-phase power applications requiring an integrated safety grounding circuit. Designed for rugged, temporary, or permanent power distribution, Type G-GC features three flexible stranded tinned copper power conductors insulated with high-dielectric Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR). The assembly includes two uninsulated ground conductors and one insulated ground-check (GC) conductor laid in the cable splices for continuous monitoring of safety ground integrity. Encased in an extra-heavy-duty, flame-retardant Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) or Polyurethane (TPU) outer jacket, Type G-GC delivers outstanding flexibility, impact resistance, and long-term durability in open-pit mines, underground facilities, and heavy construction sites.

Installation Note: Always verify that your power distribution box or breaker circuit is equipped with a compatible ground-check monitoring relay before energizing Type G-GC cable; without a functional ground-check loop, safety breakers will not operate as intended. Maintain proper minimum bend radii (typically 6x to 8x the overall cable diameter) when reeling or looping the wire to prevent internal damage to the insulated ground-check conductor. When repairing jacket cuts or conductor splices, use only MSHA-approved cold-shrink or vulcanized Type G-GC splice kits—improper tape wraps will fail under moisture exposure, triggering false ground-check trips.
