"The flexible choice for heavy-duty industrial power—engineered with premium silicone rubber and a protective glass braid for maximum reliability up to 200°C."

Why Professionals Choose SRML Motor Lead Wire

The 2 AWG SRML wire is engineered for high-amperage industrial applications where extreme thermal stress and constant mechanical vibration are the norms. It is the premier choice for large motor leads and heavy-duty industrial apparatus. The specialized silicone rubber core remains flexible in freezing temperatures as low as -60°C and maintains its integrity in heat up to 200°C.

  • -60°C to 200°C Heat Resistance: Rated for continuous use in extreme thermal environments up to 600 volts, providing a higher thermal ceiling for heavy-duty power circuits.

  • High-Strand Flexibility: With high strand counts (259 strands), this wire offers a significantly tighter bend radius than standard building wire, making it easier to install in cramped enclosures.

  • Tough Fiberglass Jacket: The outer braid is impregnated with a flame, heat, and moisture-resistant compound, providing a rugged defense against abrasion.

  • Tinned Copper Conductor: Soft-drawn tinned copper prevents the oxidation that leads to terminal failure in high-heat settings.

SRML stands for Silicone Rubber Motor Lead wire. It is specifically designed for the high-vibration and high-heat conditions found inside industrial motors and heavy appliances.

2 AWG SRML wire is rated for applications from -60°C up to 200°C (392°F). In extreme environments exceeding 200°C, the silicone rubber is designed to leave a non-conductive ash that retains excellent insulation properties.

SRML is the "problem-solver" wire for any environment where high heat and constant motion meet. It is most commonly used for industrial motor leads, where it can withstand internal heat while remaining flexible. You’ll also find it in commercial kitchen equipment, industrial kilns, and high-intensity lighting.

The main difference is Temperature and Material. SRML (200°C) is highly flexible due to its silicone rubber insulation. TGGT (250°C) is rated for higher heat but is generally less flexible because it uses Teflon and glass tapes instead of extruded rubber.

Because this size has 259 strands of copper, it is much more flexible than standard building wire. This allows for tight bend radii (as small as 3.70" for 2 AWG) without kinking, which is essential for heavy-duty motor lead terminations.

2 AWG SRML Wire carries an ampacity rating of 250 amps.
