SRML stands for Silicone Rubber Motor Lead wire. It is specifically designed for the harsh, high-vibration, and high-heat conditions found inside industrial motors and commercial heating appliances.
SRML wire is dual-rated for temperature performance. It carries a 150°C (302°F) rating for UL-certified applications (such as UL 3070 or UL 3231).
SRML is primarily used for motor lead wire, lighting fixtures, and high wattage units like sun lamps. Because of its flexibility and heat resistance, it is also the standard choice for control and power circuits in abrasive or high-temperature industrial environments.
The main differences are Flexibility and Heat. SRML is much more flexible and features a silicone rubber core with a protective fiberglass jacket. It is also rated for much higher temperatures (150°C-200°C) compared to SIS (125°C).
Yes. The silicone rubber insulation is suitable for moisture, UV, and ozone exposure. Additionally, the fiberglass jacket is impregnated with a moisture-resistant compound to enhance durability in damp settings.
Yes. SRML uses soft drawn tinned coated copper conductors per ASTM B-33. The tin coating prevents oxidation at high temperatures, which is critical for maintaining conductivity in motor and apparatus lead applications.
