An 18/30 VNTC Tray Cable is engineered to transmit low-voltage command signals, sensor data, communication relays, and control power in commercial and industrial environments. Having thirty conductors allows contractors to run high-density multi-circuit control systems—such as extensive I/O drops, auxiliary control power, and multi-point logic loops—in a single efficient cable pull.
Following the ICEA Method 1, Table E-2 standard, the thirty conductors inside this cable are colored Black (1), Red (2), Blue (3), Orange (4), Yellow (5), Brown (6), Red with Black Tracer (7), Blue with Black Tracer (8), Orange with Black Tracer (9), Yellow with Black Tracer (10), Brown with Black Tracer (11), Black with Red Tracer (12), Blue with Red Tracer (13), Orange with Red Tracer (14), Yellow with Red Tracer (15), Brown with Red Tracer (16), Black with Blue Tracer (17), Red with Blue Tracer (18), Orange with Blue Tracer (19), Yellow with Blue Tracer (20), Brown with Blue Tracer (21), Black with Orange Tracer (22), Red with Orange Tracer (23), Blue with Orange Tracer (24), Yellow with Orange Tracer (25), Brown with Orange Tracer (26), Black with Yellow Tracer (27), Red with Yellow Tracer (28), Blue with Yellow Tracer (29), and Orange with Yellow Tracer (30). Note that per this specification standard, there are no green grounding wires or white neutral stripes.
Yes, absolutely. The dual-layer protection of the TFFN conductor insulation combined with the heavy-duty sunlight-resistant PVC jacket makes this cable fully approved for direct burial underground, as well as wet, dry, and outdoor installations.
"TC-ER" stands for Tray Cable - Exposed Run. Per the UL 1277 standard for Type TC-ER cable, this rating permits contractors to run the cable outside of protective cable trays in open air or joist pulls directly to machinery and control enclosures without transitioning into rigid conduit.
Yes. The black outer PVC jacket is explicitly rated as Sunlight Resistant per UL 1277, preventing the sheath from baking, cracking, or degrading under direct outdoor sunlight exposure.
