Specifically engineered for high-density power and control applications in extreme thermal zones, this 12 AWG 5-conductor SRG-K assembly provides elite performance where standard cables would degrade. Rated for continuous operation at 200°C, this wire combines high-flexibility stranded copper with a specialized silicone rubber and fiberglass armor system.

Why Choose 12/5 SRG-K High Temp Motor Lead?

SRG-K (Silicone Rubber Glass - K-Fiber for Strength) is the industrial standard for "hot-zone" wiring. The 12 AWG gauge offers significant current-carrying capacity for heavy-duty motors and industrial heaters. The 5-conductor configuration is highly versatile, commonly used for 3-phase applications requiring a dedicated neutral and ground, or for complex sensor feedback loops in thermal processing equipment.

  • Elite Thermal Resilience: Rated for continuous service up to 200°C, ensuring electrical integrity in proximity to industrial burners, heating elements, and high-efficiency motors.

  • Silicone & Fiberglass Shielding: The silicone rubber insulation provides superior dielectric strength and moisture resistance, while the lacquered fiberglass braid provides essential abrasion resistance.

  • Tinned Copper Conductors: The tin coating on the copper strands prevents oxidation and corrosion, which is accelerated in high-heat environments, ensuring long-term termination reliability.

  • Extreme Cold Performance: Maintains flexibility and functionality in sub-zero temperatures as low as -60°C.

While this wire can certainly handle the heat, it is usually overkill for a standard home oven. It is designed for industrial-grade machinery that runs 24/7 at high temperatures, like a commercial pizza oven, a factory kiln, or a large manufacturing motor.

It is rated for 200°C (392°F). While it is incredibly heat-resistant, it should not be wrapped directly around a glowing heating element. It is designed to live in the "hot zone" around the heaters or inside the motor housing where standard wires would fail.

The name SRG-K describes a layered "armor" system designed to protect the electricity from intense heat:

  • Silicone Rubber (SR): Each wire is wrapped in high-grade silicone. Unlike the plastic on standard wires, silicone stays soft and rubbery even at extreme temperatures, preventing the insulation from cracking.
  • Fiberglass Braid (G): Because silicone is soft, it is protected by a tough, woven fiberglass jacket. This acts like a "sleeve" that prevents the wire from being cut or scraped on sharp metal edges inside a machine.
  • K-Type Finish (K): The "K" is a specialized high-heat coating applied to the fiberglass. It stops the glass fibers from fraying (becoming fuzzy) and makes the wire easier to work with during installation.

This 12 AWG, 5-conductor wire is a specialized cable built to survive where standard wiring would literally melt. Rated for continuous operation at 200°C (392°F), it is the specific choice for wiring industrial ovens, commercial fryers, and high-performance motors. By providing five heavy-duty 12-gauge conductors, this cable allows you to run 3-phase power plus extra leads for sensors or grounding in a single, heat-proof assembly.

Because of the "K" finish (the high-temp coating), this wire is much less "itchy" than raw fiberglass. The coating binds the fibers together so they don't flake off into your skin or the machine, making it much more professional and easier to handle than older styles of high-temp wire.
