1/3 TECK90 Cable with Ground is a heavy-duty, 1000V-rated armored cable engineered for 3-phase power distribution, commercial subpanels, heavy motors, and industrial machinery. Built with three 1 AWG stranded copper conductors, a 6 AWG bare copper ground, dual PVC jackets, and flexible Aluminum Interlocked Armor (AIA), it provides a complete, direct-burial system without requiring rigid conduit.

Yes! 1/3 TECK90 is CSA certified for direct earth burial in open dirt trenches and concrete encasements. Its dual-jacket design features an inner bedding PVC and an outer -40°C PVC jacket that isolates the interlocked aluminum armor from soil acidity, moisture, ground rot, and mechanical crushing—drastically cutting labor and material costs compared to pulling wire through rigid pipe.

While both feature interlocked armor, standard MC cable is designed primarily for dry indoor commercial spaces and is rated for 600V. TECK90 is an industrial-grade cable with two PVC jackets—one underneath the armor and one over the armor and is rated for 1000V. This outer jacket makes TECK90 completely waterproof, sunlight-resistant, and suitable for direct burial and hazardous locations, whereas standard MC cannot be buried or exposed to wet locations without special outer jackets.

Voltage & Temp Rating: 1000V (1kV) | -40°C Cold Impact to +90°C Continuous Operation
Ampacity Rating: 145 Amps (per CE Code Part 1, Table 2 @ 90°C)
Conductor Setup: 3x 1 AWG Stranded Bare Copper + 6 AWG Bare Ground
Dimensions & Weight: Approx. 1.54 in. Outer Diameter | 1,593 lbs per 1,000 ft
Insulation & Armor: RW90 XLPE insulation | Aluminum Interlocked Armor (AIA)

Is TECK90 certified for hazardous locations and severe environments?

Yes. It is CSA certified under C22.2 No. 174 for hazardous locations, carries the CSA HL rating, meets FT1/FT4/IEEE 1202 flame resistance, and is AG14 compliant for acid gas environments commonly found in paper mills, mines, and refineries.

Wire America custom cuts 1/3 TECK90 cable to your exact footage requirements so you buy only what your job site requires.. Orders process quickly and ship directly from regional distribution hubs with standard estimated shipping times of 2 to 4 business days once it leaves the warehouse. If you need cut sheets or submittal data for engineering approval, contact our sales team at 833-268-8644 or email sales@wireamerica.com.

To maintain a watertight, gas-tight seal and preserve ground bonding continuity at junction boxes, 1/3 TECK90 requires approved hazardous/wet-location glands (such as Star Teck® or TMC/TMC2 series fittings).
