As the heavy-duty standard for ultra-high-capacity power distribution, this 750 MCM Priority-Plex® 4-conductor assembly is engineered to tackle the most demanding infrastructure projects. By integrating four massive conductors into a factory-synchronized twist, it effectively neutralizes the logistical hurdles and extreme physical drag associated with 750 MCM pulls, ensuring a safer, more coordinated installation in high-scale industrial settings.

Why Choose 750 MCM 4C Twisted XHHW-2 Aluminum Feeder?

In the world of heavy industrial electrical work, handling four separate 750 MCM reels is a logistical bottleneck. The Priority-Plex® configuration streamlines this process into a single-source pull. This pre-twisted architecture not only saves space on the job site but also ensures that pulling tension is distributed uniformly across the entire bundle, preventing individual conductor strain and protecting the insulation's long-term integrity.

  • Massive Infrastructure Efficiency: Consolidating four conductors onto a single reel eliminates the need for complex multi-reel setups and manual wire paralleling.

  • Complete 3-Phase Integration: Includes three phase conductors (Black, Red, Blue) and a dedicated White neutral for a full 4-wire system deployment in a single pass.

  • Industrial-Grade XHHW-2 Insulation: The rugged cross-linked polyethylene (XLP) is optimized for high-heat dissipation and maximum resistance to moisture and chemical exposure.

  • AA-8000 Series Performance: Provides the necessary 400+ Amp capacity while remaining significantly lighter than copper, reducing the risk of equipment failure or rope snaps during extreme pulls.

This massive 750 MCM (750 kcmil) 4-conductor assembly is designed for high-capacity 3-phase power distribution. Unlike 3-conductor sets used for single-phase residential services, this Black, Red, White, and Blue configuration provides three "hot" phases and a dedicated neutral. It is primarily used as a main feeder for industrial motor control centers, large-scale commercial switchgear, and data center power skids where a 120/208V or 277/480V 4-wire system is required.

At the 750 MCM level, the cable is exceptionally stiff and heavy. In a traditional parallel pull, four loose conductors can "stack" or "wedge" against each other inside a conduit bend—a phenomenon known as jamming. The Priority-Plex® factory twist locks the four conductors into a tight, helical bundle. This structural arrangement ensures the conductors move as a single unit, significantly reducing the risk of jamming and lowering the pulling tension required to navigate 90-degree elbows.

Because this cable uses XHHW-2 insulation, it maintains a high thermal threshold. According to NEC Table 310.16, the allowable ampacity for 750 MCM Aluminum is:

  • 75°C Terminations: 385 Amps
  • 90°C Terminations: 435 Amps

⚠️ NOTE ON DERATING: Because this is a 4-conductor assembly, if the neutral is carrying a significant load (common in systems with many non-linear loads like computers or LED lighting), the NEC requires you to apply an 80% derating factor because you have four current-carrying conductors in a single bundle.

In a 3-phase system, balanced loads still generate significant heat within the conduit. XHHW-2 insulation is made of Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE), which is a "thermoset" material. Unlike standard PVC (THHN), XLPE will not soften, flow, or drip even if the conductors reach their maximum rated temperature. This provides a critical safety margin for industrial infrastructure that may experience temporary overloads or high ambient temperatures in overhead cable trays.

A 4-conductor 750 MCM Priority-Plex® bundle is a massive product that requires specialized installation equipment.

  • Conduit Fill: Due to the 4-conductor count and the diameter of 750 MCM, a 5-inch or 6-inch conduit is standard to stay within the 40% fill limit.
  • Bend Radius: The minimum bending radius for this cable is typically 12 times the bundle diameter. Sharp bends must be avoided to prevent "burn-through" of the jacket during a high-tension pull.
  • Termination: Always use UL-listed compression or mechanical lugs rated for AL9CU and ensure a calibrated torque wrench is used to meet the specific requirements for 750 MCM connections.
