APPLICATION:
18/36 Pair (72-Conductor) Shielded TC-ER Instrumentation Cable (600V) is suitable for control, instrumentation and process control circuits, where protection against electrostatic interference from both outside of the cable and from pair to pair is needed. TC-ER Shielded Pairs with Overall Shield (SPOS) cables are suitable for wet or dry applications, direct burial, indoor or outdoor locations, installed in cable trays, ducts, aerially or conduits and for applications up to 600 volt and temperatures up to 90°C. TC-ER SPOS Instrumentation Cables are suitable for use in Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous locations per NEC.
CONDUCTORS:
Stranded soft drawn bare copper conductor, per ASTM B3 & B-8
INSULATION:
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) insulation with a nylon overcoat
JACKET:
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) jacket, which is water, chemical, sunlight and abrasion resistant
COLOR CODE:
Black & White numbered pairs
SHIELD:
Aluminum polyester foil with 100% coverage on each pair, with an overall aluminum polyester foil with 100% coverage with a tinned copper drain wire in contact with all shields
"The ultimate high-density data mainline—consolidate 36 independent signal loops into a single, high-performance pull with zero crosstalk and industrial-grade EMI protection."
Why Engineers Specify Our 18/36 Pair Cable
This massive 72-conductor (36-Pair) instrumentation cable is engineered for the most complex industrial control rooms and centralized DCS hubs. It allows you to manage 36 independent process loops within a single, ruggedized jacket, drastically reducing the footprint and weight of your cable tray systems.
Maximum Signal Isolation (SPOS): Each of the 36 pairs is individually wrapped in 100% aluminum polyester foil, then protected by an overall foil shield. This "Shielded Pairs with Overall Shield" construction ensures that 72 conductors can operate in high-density proximity with zero signal bleed or data corruption.
Massive Labor Efficiency (TC-ER): Rated for Exposed Run (ER), this cable is UL-listed for installation without conduit or raceways. One pull replaces 36 individual cables, cutting installation time by over 75% and eliminating the need for miles of expensive pipe infrastructure.
Hazardous Environment Rated: Fully compliant with Class 1 Division 2 requirements. The chemical, sunlight, and moisture-resistant PVC/Nylon jacket is designed for the extreme conditions of refineries, chemical plants, and offshore rigs.
Precision Numbering: Every pair is clearly numbered 1 through 36 (Black & White), ensuring fast, error-free termination in even the most crowded high-density control cabinets.
More Common Applications
Main Control Room Trunks: Connecting massive sensor banks to a central industrial DCS or PLC system.
Petrochemical & Refining: Managing high-density multi-valve and multi-motor feedback in hazardous zones.
Power Generation: Critical signal wiring for utility-scale turbines and complex monitoring systems.
Large-Scale Infrastructure: Reliable, consolidated signal transmission for bridges, tunnels, and water treatment plants.
